Oh how sad is this…. I have just been stopped in my tracks watching the window cleaner. No, not like the one on the adds, topless and the stopping to drink a fizzy drink! Yes, I know, I don’t get out much. We are on the first floor, and the window cleaner has a long pole with a brush on the end with water coming out the brush. What made me laugh is, he has washed our windows, then washed the windows above us on the 2nd floor so all the water from the windows above us, has dripped down on ours and that’s him done! Humm, not the smartest way to do the windows perhaps. 😊
It’s like a film set in here today. Mini Her, is also a makeup artist in her spare time. This is very handy as we are about to have our professional head shots done for our new web site! Her travel bag of tricks is more like a suitcase, I am in awe! We are all suited and booted with a few changes of tops to get a variety of images to choose from. I am quite excited as in all my years in business, I have never had a professional photo taken. Of course, I have asked for artistic licence to ensure the enhancements are to my specific requirements i.e elongate my legs, reduce my chubby cheeks, widen my eyes, change the colour of my teeth, you know the kind of things I mean.
We were talking earlier about one of our suppliers and how what they do, impacts on their customers and their customer’s businesses. We ordered a new phone for a customer from the supplier. Now, this means, the phone, the base it stands on, the cord from the base to the hand piece, and the hand piece. This is a standard request that they must hear day after day. This is what our customer received………. just the hand piece!
We did ask the supplier if this was a new invention that enables you to speak into the hand piece, and hey presto, you are connected! What was going on in someone’s mind when they sent this? Yes, it’s funny, but not for the customer waiting for a new phone. As the supplier to our own customers, it doesn’t matter why, we cannot give them what they asked for; they will see it as our failure to supply.
This is why it is so important that we, make sure all our suppliers are first class because their failure, looks like ours. We are all in business, so the chain should be as effective as humanly possible so everyone achieves success and professional recognition as a preferred supplier to do business with. Needless to say, this will NOT happen again!
Anyway, we are all photographed, photo-shopped (Not really) and now, we are just waiting to get them sent to us to veto the ones we want to go online. I have to say, the photographers, http://www.richardtorblephotography.com/ were fantastic to work with. Great work Richard!
Daily titbit A BIG MOMENT IN TIME 1945 today, Winston Churchill officially announced the end of the war with Germany. In a message broadcast to the nation from the Cabinet room at Number 10, he said the ceasefire had been signed at 0241 yesterday at the American advance headquarters in Rheims. In his speech, Mr Churchill said: “We may allow ourselves a brief period of rejoicing; but let us not forget for a moment the toil and efforts that lie ahead.”
